Saint Rita of Cascia was an Italian widow and nun, known for her deep faith, patience, and devotion to God. Born in 1381 in Cascia, Italy, Rita was married at a young age to a man known for his violent temper, and after his death, she entered the Augustinian convent of Cascia. Despite facing many trials, including opposition from her sons, she lived a life of prayer and charity. Saint Rita is often invoked for help in difficult and impossible situations, especially those involving family problems or reconciliation. She is known for her stigmata, a miraculous wound on her forehead that she bore for many years. Her feast day is celebrated on May 22nd.
