St. Dominic Prayer Card

Saint Dominic was a 12th and 13th-century Spanish priest and the founder of the Order of Preachers, commonly known as the Dominicans. Born in 1170 in Caleruega, Spain, Dominic was dedicated to preaching and combating heresy, particularly the Albigensian heresy in southern France. He established his order with a focus on poverty, chastity, and preaching the truth of the Gospel, relying on intellectual study, prayer, and community life. The Dominicans played a key role in the intellectual and theological life of the Church, founding many schools and universities. Saint Dominic is known for his deep devotion to prayer, including the Rosary, which, according to tradition, he promoted. His feast day is celebrated on August 8th.
