Saint Cecilia is one of the most venerated saints in the Catholic Church, known as the patroness of musicians and music. According to tradition, she was a noblewoman in Rome in the 2nd or 3rd century who vowed her virginity to God, despite being married to a pagan man named Valerian. Cecilia's devotion to God was so strong that she converted her husband and his brother to Christianity. She is said to have sung hymns to God in her heart during her wedding, which led to her association with music. Saint Cecilia was martyred for her faith, and her death is believed to have been a result of her refusal to sacrifice to pagan gods. Her feast day is celebrated on November 22nd.
