Initially named Fernando Martins, he joined the Augustinian Order before transferring to the Franciscan Order, following the martyrdom of Franciscan friars in Morocco. Renowned for his devotion to finding lost items, St. Anthony earned the title of the patron saint of lost things. However, his influence extended far beyond this specialty.
